Poets Ellen van Neerven and Omar Sakr alternate monthly hosting duties in this podcast that mixes dialogue with poetry readings. Each episode, the host is joined by a guest poet. Both host and guest read and discuss poems they have written in the last month, reflecting on the current moment.

The 30-minute format allows plenty of time for the poets to unpack their work and their writing processes, talking through the personal experiences that have shaped their writing in the lead-up to the recording of the podcast. Having both host and guest take the same writing challenge – write a poem in a month about the strange times we’re living through – creates an engaging and balanced dialogue and a sense of warmth and connection between the speakers. The discussion begins with personal reflections then often veers off into larger themes about the power of poetry during these uncertain times, and about how poetry allows for truth-telling, reckoning and transformation.

Guests include Eunice Andrada, Ouyang Yu, Charmaine Papertalk Green, Lachlan Brown and Ali Cobby Eckermann.
