Dear Reader features bubbly, animated conversations about books from people who ought to know – two librarians (plus guests).

Hosts Natalie Mason and Justine Hanna both work for Melbourne Library Service, and episodes are sometimes themed, sometimes open-ended, sometimes based around events such as Melbourne Writers Festival; any excuse to talk about books and reading, basically.

Each episode runs to about a half hour, and the hosts are passionate about reading in a way that’s infectious. Audio quality is great, too – likely because Melbourne Library Service has been busy building podcast studios into their new libraries.
