Sisteria is a friendly, conversational show about ‘women’s experiences as creators and consumers of arts and culture’.
Co-host Stephanie Van Schilt and producer Izzy Roberts-Orr launched Sisteria late in 2016, spinning the show off from long-running pop culture criticism podcast The Rereaders (where the pair initially collaborated), and bringing in co-host Veronica Sullivan. Each episode will present a longform conversation with a female writer or artist spanning their work, career trajectory and experiences of gender in the creative industries.
Newly-minted, it’s off to a good start: Van Schilt and Sullivan are both accomplished writers and editors with a particularly in-depth knowledge of Australia’s literary arts scene, and fittingly, their debut episode features Australian author, editor and publisher Hannah Kent. One to watch.
