Joel Werner was almost lost to the elbow-patched world of research psychology before joining ABC RN as a science/health reporter in January 2011.
In 2012, he developed the show Off Track for ABC RN, a program he hosted/produced for two seasons before moving to the US in the final days of 2013.
Joel spent 2014/15 living and working in New York City. During that time, he was lucky enough to work for a few his favourite radio shows, including Radiolab, On The Media, Freakonomics, What The Point, and 99% Invisible – with whom he won the Best Documentary: Bronze Award at the Third Coast International Audio Festival 2015.
In July 2014, he launched the independent and ‘occasional’ podcast series, Your Own Voice – a non-narrated storytelling mixtape. Your Own Voice is so occasional there are only four episodes in existence.
In 2016 he moved back to Sydney and the ABC where he produced the RN Health Report, and launched Sum of All Parts. He is currently the Executive Producer at ABC Audio Studios, developing new shows such as No Feeling is Final.
