Ellen Leabeater is an audio producer for Guardian Australia, currently working on the daily news podcast Full Story. She has worked on some of Australia’s most popular podcasts, most recently the chart-topping Unravel True Crime (Seasons 1 and 2) for Australia’s national broadcaster, the ABC.

She has won awards nationally and internationally for her work, including a Gold New York Radio Award for her work examining why Australia’s stillbirth rate has remained unchanged for two decades, and was part of the team recognised in a Walkley win for Season 1 of Unravel.

During her time at 2SER, Ellen Leabeater was the executive producer of national current affairs program The Wire and a fill-in Breakfast presenter. She has previously produced Think: Health and Think: Digital Futures, and co-produced Think: Sustainability. She’s also freelanced with Sydney independent production house Heaps Good Media.

Starting out in community radio as a teenager, Ellen had her own music show at age sixteen. She aspired to be the next big thing on Triple J, but when she made the move to 2SER in 2011 she found news and current affairs much more interesting.
