Ellen Leabeater is a producer, reporter and researcher who has worked on some of Australia’s most popular podcasts, most recently Unravel True Crime (seasons one and two) for Australia’s national broadcaster, the ABC.
She has won awards nationally and internationally for her work, collecting a New York Festivals Gold Radio Award for her work examining why Australia’s stillbirth rate has remained unchanged for two decades, and as part of the team recognised with a Walkley win for season one of Unravel.
During her time at 2SER, Ellen Leabeater was the executive producer of national current affairs program The Wire and a fill-in Breakfast presenter. She has previously produced Think: Health and Think: Digital Futures, and co-produced Think: Sustainability. She’s also freelanced with Sydney independent production house Heaps Good Media.
Starting out in community radio as a teenager, Ellen had her own music show at age sixteen. She aspired to be the next big thing on Triple J, but when she made the move to 2SER in 2011 she found news and current affairs much more interesting.
