Natasha Mitchell

Natasha Mitchell is a multi-award winning ABC journalist, presenter, podcaster and documentary maker. She has hosted ABC RN’s Life Matters (2012-2016) and was the founding presenter & producer of the popular science, psychology & culture radio program, All in the Mind, from 2002-12. She has also made features for Background Briefing and Earshot.

Natasha is a member of the current Executive Advisory board of Women in Science Australia (2016-). She served as a board member and then as vice president of the World Federation of Science Journalists between 2009-13, and on the National Health and Medical Research Council’s Human Genetics Advisory Committee from 2009-11. She was co-editor of the anthology, The Best Australian Science Writing 2013 (New South).

Natasha was the recipient of a prestigious Knight Journalism Fellowship at MIT/Harvard, and a Marine Biological Laboratory Journalism Fellowship at Woods Hole, Massachusetts.

Her broadcast work has received accolades internationally, including the overall Grand Prize and four Gold World Medals at the New York Radio Festivals, four Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Broadcast Media Awards, the Yooralla Broadcast Media Award, the Public Health Association of Australia Media Award, the Australasian Association of Philosophy Media Professionals’ Award, amongst other awards. She was also the finalist for two Human Rights Awards.
